Dog Training Advice: Stop Digging Holes

I get the question all the time. How do I get my dog to stop digging holes?

There are some simple tricks that come to mind. However, not all dogs are the same so you might have to try a few different things before coming around to the right method.

First, try covering up fresh dirt. This is normally the easiest thing. I know Halogen will dig up fresh dirt in a heartbeat. Put down some grass and she won't dig.

Second, you might try a little doggie surprise. When you find a whole put a water balloon inside and cover it back up. When the dog digs, it will ge a nice pop.

Last, try putting some chicken wire in the whole. This worked for my little Poopsie. She liked to dig by the fence and I put some wire down. She didn't like the feel of the wire and stopped digging.
